I'd like to decorate my house for Halloween. Do you know where I can find Halloween decorations in Marbella or nearby? I also need to find costumes for my kids. Can you tell me if there is a costume shop around here?

by: Anonymous

Boo!
Halloween is just around the corner and I have so many great costume and decoration ideas.
I was wondering if any body could tell me where the best stores are to buy the spookiest items in town?

pumpkins

I have seen carving pumpkins (for jack-o lanterns) for sale at:
Opencor in Nueva Andalucia and ALDI in Marbella on the Golden Mile.

Have you seen them anywhere else?

There is a massive Halloween section at El Corte Ingles on the top floor by the housewares section. You can find pretty much everything you could possibly need there.

La Cañada

There's quite a good selection of costumes, decorations, candy and cake decorations etc. at the party shop upstairs in
La Cañada! They did a superb job at their shop windows too!

Halloween costumes in Marbella
by: Marbella Family

I was just shopping at El Corte Ingles and Hipercor yesterday and saw that they had a ton of Halloween decorations and costumes. Much more than they did last year and the year before.

Both Hipercor and El Corte Ingles are both located in the same building - The Costa Marbella Shopping Mall in Puerto Banus. In Hipercor there are two whole aisles dedicated to costumes and plenty of other Halloween items. Downstairs in the children's toy section El Corte Ingles has set out a large area also selling costumes, face paints, decorations and plenty of other Halloween items.

If you don't like what you see there, then you can also try the Pepita Cardeña shop in San Pedro. It is located just off the pedestrian area on calle Lagasca 32 and there is another shop just up the block (same street, but on the corner of Lagasca and San Antonio) at 34. One is more of a flamenco shop while the other has more costumes. Go as early as you can, because the shop gets extremely packed towards the 31st and costumes are just flying off the shelves. It's best to park at the parking lot under the church at Plaza de la Iglesia and walk to the shop. It´s nearly impossible to find parking on the street. I walked into this shop today around 7pm and it was already mobbed. I noticed a sign outdoors with opening times from 10am-1:30pm, they close for lunch and reopen again from 4:30pm-9pm. On Saturday Oct 30 they will open only in the afternoon (4:30pm-9pm).

Your next bet is to try any of the Chinese Bazaar type stores scattered throughout Marbella and San Pedro. They have loads of Halloween costumes, accessories, wigs and decorations at very low prices. There are two stores on San Pedro´s main road (Avenida Oriental) and one in Puerto Banus on Antonio Banderas square. Just stay on the lookout when you are driving and you are sure to find a Chinese Bazaar in your area.

You may also try Agrojardin in Estepona. This is a garden center, but they also have been filling their stock of Halloween decorations more and more each passing year. Agrojardin is located off the N340 at km 164. If you are driving from Marbella it will take you about 10-15 minutes to get there. Look out for the large billboards directing you to the exit.

Your last resort is the San Pedro street market. This is a great place where I have browsed the stalls and come up with my own costume with even a few pieces that I can keep to wear later on.

Check out our shopping page for a full listing of other street markets to find one near you.
