The Costa del Sol Hospital has been named "Mother and Child Friendly" by UNICEF and the World Health Organization due to the thorough attention patients receive during labor and birth as well as the various options mothers are given on the childbirth process. Women are given the option of labor in water, birth sitting up or crouching position.
In Spain only 13 hospitals have been named "Child Friendly" which is a considerable honor for the Costa del Sol Hospital.
Since its opening in 1995 the hospital has emphasized its priority in perinatal car and breastfeeding support.

A new terminal at the Malaga airport is due to be inaugurated in March. The T-3 has taken four years to be completed and a second runway will be built by 2011.
This 270,000 square meter glass and steel terminal make Malaga airport the fourth largest in Spain in number of flights and passengers. There will be 86 check-in desks, 20 boarding gates and numerous shops and cafes that will serve approximately 9,000 passengers an hour, which is double the current figures.
The pedestrian walkway over the Rio Verde in Marbella is due for completion in March announced the local Municipal Public Works and Environment. This means that visitors will be able to walk from Marbella to San Pedro nonstop as it will all connect. Let´s hope that it doesn´t rain too much and the works can be completed.

This is a funny e-mail we received from a friend. It´s for the moms.
------------
I was out walking with my 4-year-old daughter. She picked up somethingoff of the ground and started to put it in her mouth.
I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.'Why?' my daughter asked.'Because it's been on the ground; you don't know where it's been, it'sdirty, And probably has germs,' I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked,'Mum, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart.'
I was thinking quickly and replied, 'All mums know this stuff. It's onthe Mum Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mum.'
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidentlypondering this new information.
'Oh.....I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you haveto be the dad.'
'Exactly,' I replied with a big smile on my face.
