Marbella Young Songwriter Winner for 2016

The Laude Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) proudly announces the winner of Laude Academy of Performing Arts Young Talent Songwriting Competition 2016, 13 year old 'Amalia Estradas’ with rock pop song ‘Walking in the Rain’.

Amalia was top choice favourite entry for industry judges Hannah Murray (TRE), James Gomez (Planet Project Events), Paul Isola (Breed 77), Mikki Nilsen (Gecko Studios) and Scheherazade King (Bigman Entertainment). Over 30 entries were received from young and talented aspiring artists from all over the Costa Del Sol, including some interests from Gibraltar, but it was Amalia’s powerful lyrics and strong delivery performance that broke through. All judges agreed that this is an extremely talented singer songwriter in the making with immense potential.

As a result Amalia Estradas wins as prize; a full years scholarship at the Laude Academy of Performing Arts, was invited to perform at the exclusive Laude Charity Gala on Thursday 10th March, has been interviewed and performed live on radio at TRE’s breakfast show ‘Wake up with Hannah’ on March 17th and has a forthcoming TV appearance at GBC TV popular programme 'The Hub' on the 6th April. In addition, Amalia's success has been mentioned in Sur in English and she will also feature in next edition of the Euro Weekly News.

Runner up to the competition was 15 year old Paris Gibson with indie pop song ‘Something just not Right’ and in third position, 14 year old Jessica Clitheroe with retro contemporary song ‘Shout’. The competition run from February - March 2016, the winning entry announced on Friday 4th March.

The Laude Academy of Performing Arts is a fun an innovative academy in Marbella  that offers young and talented aspiring artists aged 5 - 18 years workshops in; songwriting and studio sessions, dance craft and musical theatre. The future is looking very bright for this singer songwriter as she will work on her repertoire at the academy and look in to possibilities of recording and releasing ‘Walking in the Rain’ as a single.
