The Yogurt Life Frozen Yogurt Bar in Marbella

by Pamela
(Marbella)

We stumbled across a fantastic new Yogurt Bar in Marbella this evening and I thought other people would be interested to know about it! It has a wide variety of low fat frozen yogurts that are to die for...vanilla, chocolate, fruit, and sugar free vanilla too ( even less calories !!) You can choose up to three frozen fruits ( eg: mango, papaya, strawberry) and then you choose your own choice of yogurt. It is then blended for you and more toppings can be applied - fresh fruit or sprinkles. Delicious !

The owners are very friendly and enthusiastic. They have a web site ( www.theyogurtlife.es) and a Facebook page (theyogurtlife) so you can look at all the combinations and the map of where they are. Their address is C/Jose Camilo Cela, 21 , Marbella. They are located very near to the Plaza Del Mar Cinema complex ,one street parallel to the seafront.

Enjoy !

Not as good as Pinkberrys
by: Markian

I have been to other frozen yoghurt places in america such as Pinkberry and was quite excited to hear that yoghurt life is opening in marbella. It looked modern and it was nice to eat frozen yoghurt outdoors especially when it is hot.

The quality of the yoghurt was good but not as well made as Pinkberry. The fruit toppings were really good although they seemed to be frozen, not fresh. Overall, not a bad place to go to with your friends or family after a day at the beach.

nice yogurt shop
by: Marbella Family

We tried the yogurt shop and were really happy.

The price scheme wasn´t very clear. We weren´t sure if it mattered how many toppings you had or not. Turns out that a small is one topping, a medium is two and a large is three. There is a little menu that was an attempt to explain, but it still confused us.

Evidently you have the option of either blending your topping with the yogurt or having them sprinkled on top. If you have a medium size, for example, you can blend two toppings and still have two toppings sprinkled on top. Still confused? You just need to go and see for yourself.

It was a bit disappointing that the berries were frozen, not fresh, but I am sure this is a way to keep costs down. Berries in Spain (with the exception of strawberries) are extremely expenisve.

The price for our three yogurts came to 10 euro. Not bad, considering an ice cream in Puerto Banus can cost as much as 5 euro for one bowl.

We all loved our yogurt and can recommend the Yogurt Life. It´s a great alternative to ice cream. All their flavors are low fat or non fat and they also have sugar free options.

the yogurt life frozen yogurt bar in Marbella

The frozen yogurt at Yogurt Life is really good, but the process is a little bit confusing. The sizes are small, medium and large. They have different flavors like vanilla, chocolate, cheesecake, soya and plain yogurt with no sugar. You can mix one to three fruits with the flavours if you choose to. Depending on how many fruit you mix that is how many toppings you get. They have a variety of toppings fruit, cookies, nuts, coconut shreds, etc.

You can either blend the toppings in with the yogurt to create your own base, or you can have just the yogurt and throw toppings on top.

Aww, really! I would think chocolate and berry is a great combo. Thanks for the warning, because I would have probably attempted this one myself. How about if you drizzle chocolate over the top? I saw on the video that they mix the fruit up with vanilla or some base yogurt. An interesting technique that I haven´t seen before.

Don't ever be tempted to combine their chocolate with mixed berry yoghurt flavours.. it really, REALLY doesn't work!

frozen yogurt in Marbella
by: Marbella Family

Whoopee! We´ve been waiting for this to happen on the Costa del Sol. Our family absolutely loves the American chain Pinkberry and always get our fill of frozen yogurt when we are on holiday in the States. We were always hoping that one day someone would bring this fabulous idea to Europe...particularly to Marbella where we enjoy warm weather all year round and can eat frozen yogurt at any season.

I much prefer to steer my children towards choosing yogurt with fresh fruit toppings than ice cream. It makes it a bit easier to say, go ahead, and have an extra scoop or double topping knowing that they are getting more fruit in their bodies.

We haven´t been to this yogurt bar yet, but are looking forward to trying it out and are crossing our fingers that they actually use fresh fruit as opposed to frozen or syrups as some companies do. You should have seen the look on my daughter´s face when I found this video and posted it here.

Thanks for sharing this news with us Pamela!
