Costa Del Sol in January?

by Beth

My husband and I own a timeshare at the Marriott in Marbella. We usually visit in late March/April. We have booked a week in January to bring our parents and were wondering if many things were closed in the area. Is it a good time to visit?

Marbellla in January
by: Marbella Family

It is always a good time to visit Marbella. In January things are closed on the 1st (New Year´s Day) and the 6th (Los Reyes - Kings Day). But otherwise business is as usual for the rest of the month.

The weather hangs around 54 degrees F (12 degrees C) during the day in January. You will still see tourists wearing shorts and t-shirts and dipping their feet in the water. Personally, I am from California and find it a bit cold to be dressed so lightly, so I always wear a long sleeve shirt and jeans in winter and I don´t swim. But that´s just me. Still, Marbella has very temperate weather compared to the rest of Europe and the most parts of the US. If you would like to read more about the weather then check out our page on Marbella Weather.
