single elderly women at risk in Marbella

My mother's decided to retire a few years ago and has elected the Costa del Sol and Marbella as her retirement location. She's recently met someone here 20 years younger than her who' moved in with her in her newly purchased home.

This situation seems very odd to me as said person seems very dodgy, seems to like luxury items and gorgeous YOUNG women...
It would be great to hear from the Community if i should be worried: i've never lived in this area and am not sure if this is typical Spanish behavior for example...?
