Welcome to Marbella

Driving through San Pedro de Alcantara today I came across this huge billboard "Welcome Obama Family. Thank you for choosing Marbella!"

Michelle Obama, wife of the President of the US Barak Obama, and her eldest daughter Sasha are due for an unofficial visit to Marbella August 4 to 8. The White House issued a brief statement confirming only that "the first lady will travel to Spain for a private, mother-daughter trip with longtime family friends. President Obama will not be joining this trip. All activities are closed press." Rumors in Marbella have it that the first lady will be attending the Starlite gala charity ball which is due to take place in the Villa Padierna Hotel where she is expected to stay.

It has been announced that the first family will be staying at the five star luxury hotel Villa Padierna (a Ritz Carlton) with family and friends reserving some 30+ rooms (some reports have this number up to 60). Well, then technically the family is visiting Estepona as the Villa Padierna is outside of Marbella borders, but no one seems to recognize that. Hmmm. Wonder if Estepona has posted any billboards.
