trying to get reconnected
by: Anonymous

Our gardener rang us to say our meter had been taken out and therefore no electric and the pool going green (we are in england and due out there in 5 weeks time) Rang Iberdrola - they said that they had taken it out as the account had been cancelled. The bank say Iberdrola cancelled it - Iberdrola say we did.

Anyway - we have to set up a new account which we did over the phone - their electrician has not reconnected. He says that the box for the meter must be moved to the street and we must get our own electrician to do this (it is in garden at present) Gardener got electrician to do this but they now say we need a certificate ?? which we must get through the solicitor before they will reconnect.

Of course we will have to pay the electrician for this work and we are trying to sort out the certificate - time is ticking and we have several family members with flights book to go out. Absolute nightmare!

Which one do I chose?
by: Pam

We changed to Iberdrola about a year ago and the changeover could not have been easier as Iberdrola dealt with it all. Naturally, as they were wanting our business. They do have a very helpful English speaking call centre here in Spain.

However,a recent change in meter by Endesa (who after all lease all their equipment to Iberdrola)has caused no end of problems and we are now into our 5th week of reduced power, approx 3kw would you believe for a 4 bed villa. Neither Endesa nor Iberdrola want to take responsibility for our situation despite jumping through all the hoops that have been laid down to us and costing us 2500,00 euros to apparently "comply with the new Law" by upgrading.

In my opinion there is no question that Endesa has sabotaged our supply, simply 'cos we chose to move to Iberdrola which was after all, our right to do so.Endesa have offered us better terms to return to them as clients. My advise to anyone considering moving supplier is to stick with Endesa 'cos mark my words they will get their own back somehow.

Slightly Misleading
by: Neville@VillaTranquilla

When I was reading the comments on the page, it initially looked brilliant to change to Iberdrola as every commenter rated them with 5 stars.

This is not the case. Only the actual page has a rating.

I think the comments should be rated.

I have one question. When I have an electricity problem, I phone Endesa and they usually arrive
quickly & repair if necessary.
If I change and report a problem to Iberdrola, who does the repair? I doubt that they have their own engineers. If they do, how do Endesa feel about them interfering with their installation?
If it is Endesa, surely they would give priority to their own clients!!!
Finally, you need a PHd to understand an electric bill. How is one able to do a proper comparison?

tariff Iberdrola Electric
by: Mark

We signed up for the "day/night" tariff a couple if months ago. Too early to say if it was worthwhile but it was certainly a struggle to switch!

PS If you are based in England there's a Scottish power telephone number that makes life easier - you get an English speaker
