Our Starters

Yet another Cool Deals offer, this time for Gio’s Cafeteria. This is one of those eateries that ‘opens early. closes late’ and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. They seat some 30 inside and 50 on the terrace, plus a pleasant lounge/bar area. Open for about 4 years, the owner, Giovanni devised a special menu for the CD offer that reflected the budget element of the deal, but having had sight of their extensive normal menu, it certainly would be a rarity not to find something to please.

From the 9 starter options on the special menu, the four of us chose: Spinach with Bacon,
Onions & pine nuts, Pil-Pil, Melon with Serrano Ham, and avocado with a Mari rose dressing (it could have been with Prawns) Of the 8 mains, two of us succumbed to the sales pitch of “Gino’s Famous 100% Beef Berger, with all the trimmings, A 100% mince Beef Lasagna, and a Chicken Curry.

Far from there being any criticism of the meal from any of us, my comment on the ‘Famous’ Burger was “That it was as good as I had ever had”. And no, I’m not a Philistine

This was a good piece of Beef, and Fernando, the chef, knows what he is doing!

We indulged in an Apple pie and Crepe Susette. With drinks, the total bill was 13.50€ a head, which representing excellent value.
