The heavens opened up, and even with umbrellas we still got wet just walking from the car to the restaurant. Manager Shelly greets us, stows our brollies, and settles us in to a corner table with a photographic mural of Il Canal Grande Venice. The dining area is divided into a principle room seating 25, an intermediate room with 15 covers, and an enclosed terrace for 55. Comfortable chairs, nice place settings, tastefully lit, altogether a pleasant room to dine in.

As an alternative to the extensive A ‘LA Carte menu with over 80 dishes described, there are two set menus, both with several options for each course. Priced at 14.95 & 18.95€ including IVA, for the purpose of this review I ordered from the latter, with a starter of Fried Whitebait (which turned out to be Boquerones, not the same) and aioli sauce, followed by a Marinaded sirloin steak and onions cooking on an iron platter with a herb infused baked potato, peas, Carrots
The others chose from the A La’ Carte and had mains of Mixed Grill, meat cooked on a stone at the table (though the cut was not specified but it looked like thinly sliced ribeye) and a grilled Sirloin Steak. To finish Tiramisu and Apple Crumble All were happy with quality, size and taste, and with the bill being under 30€ a head including drinks and tip this represented excellent value.
The Service was exemplary from the staff of Miguel, Lory and Shelly who ensured that my Olive Oil toxin intolerance was not tested!
