A Private Yacht Day from Puerto Banús: Our Family Experience Aboard a De Antonio D50

If you're looking for something special to do as a family in Marbella, renting a private boat from Puerto Banús turned out to be the highlight of our summer.
We booked a private charter aboard YOMEGA, a 15-metre De Antonio D50 based right in Puerto Banús, with a professional skipper included. What we loved most was that it's a completely private experience — just our group on board, no strangers, no fixed timetable. The boat holds up to 10 people, so it was perfect for the whole family.
The skipper took us along the coast and we anchored in a quiet cove to swim. The kids loved the paddle surf and snorkelling gear that comes included, and there was light catering with drinks on board. You can choose 2-hour, 4-hour or full-day trips depending on what you fancy.
A few practical tips if you're thinking of doing the same:
- Bring sun cream, hats and towels — the Mediterranean sun is strong even in the morning.
- Mornings tend to have calmer water, which is great with younger kids.
- Book a few days ahead in July and August, as private boats get reserved quickly.
- Ask the skipper about the best coves — ours knew exactly where to go for calm, clear water.
It's not a cheap day out, but for a birthday, a special celebration or just a once-in-a-lifetime family memory, it was absolutely worth it. Seeing Marbella's coastline and the Golden Mile from the water is something the kids still talk about.
If anyone wants to look into it, the company we used was Rent Boat Marbella (https://www.rentboatmarbella.com), a private charter based in Puerto Banús. Happy to answer any questions!
