2015 Fuengirola Christmas Events Schedule

Friday, 27th November

5.30 pm will see start of the Christmas Market in Plaza de la Constitution, which will be open each day until 16th December.
Organised by Department of Commerce.

6.30 pm The official opening of the Nativity Scene (Belén Municipal).
With a blessing by the Rev. Father Damien, Parish priest, will take place in the Fuengirola Museum (next to the Town Hall). This spectacular presentation will remain open until 5 January.
Opening times: Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 21.00 with the exceptions of 24th and 31st December when it will be closed in the afternoon and 25th December and 1st January when it will be closed in the mornings.

Following the blessing of the crib, there will be a performance by the Choir of the Fuengirola Brotherhood of Rocio.
Sra. Rosa Maria Ortiz Aragon and D. Miguel Blanco Moreno are the creators of this Fuengirola spectacular, which is original in it’s beauty and meticulous detail.
After the inauguration and blessing of the Belén, the wonderland of Fuengirola Christmas lights will be officially switched on at a ceremony in La Plaza de España. 
We will then be entertained by the Youth Council ‘workshop’ students, singing under the leadership of Paula Adiego.

9 pm Blessing of the Nativity Scene (Belen). Hermandad Jesús Cautivo in the salón de tronos de la Casa Hermandad of The Jesus Brotherhood (Avd. Jesus Captive No. 1).

Visitors will be able to view the Nativity Scene (Belen) from 5thDecember until January 6th, as follows:
Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 11 am to 1.30 pm and on the remaining days from 5 pm to 8.30 pm.

Following the inauguration, the XVI Jesus Captive will present a carol service assisted by the choirs of:

- Pastoral La Rosa.
- Pastoral Las Lagunas.
- Pastoral Santa Fe de Los Boliches.
- Pastoral The Fullers (Benalmádena).
- Pastoral Santiago.

28th November

‘Get to Know Your Province’
For those registered on the Padron, there will be the possibility of a trip to Frigiliana.
Departing from Mercacentro (indoor market) at 8 in the morning.
Price: 10 euros. Organised by: Department of Festivities.

29th November

10 am There will be competitive running races ‘Race Against Gender Violence’.

Distances: For juveniles 600 meters. 10.15 am, for adults over a distance of 2.5 km (2 laps).
The course will be from la Plaza España, Avda.Condes de San Isidro, C/ España, Paseo Maritimo, C/
Cuesta, Plaza España

Registration

Children up to 15 years, 1 euro. Over 16 years, 3 euros.
Souvenir Shirts will be given to the first 50 children under 10 who register, and to the next 400 registered participants 11 years and above.

2 pm The festival by the Parish Charity Group of Our Lady of Carmen.
Location: Friends of the Peña Nuevas, Recinto Ferial (the Fairground).

Wednesday, 23rd December

From 22nd December until 4th January 2016. The ‘Royal Postman of the Three Wise Men’ will meet all the children who want to give him their letters.

The Royal Postman, sitting on a great throne of iron, located in the Central Plaza de la Constitución, will meet all the children in his African tent, handmade by real Berbers, complete with some traditional Berber pieces and carpets brought directly from the North of Africa. Bioparc Fuengirola has been commissioned to install the Berber tent (JaimaBerebere) in the centre of town.

Only by giving their letter to the Royal Postman, will children get their first Christmas gift; Bioparcs “Pase Verde” (No charge. entrance ticket) to visit the Fuengirola Zoo all year round.

Adults who would like to get their annual pass at this time will have better value than ever, since they only cost € 39.

Opening period: from 11.00 am to 3 pm and from 5 pm to 9.00 pm, 22nd December until 4th January (except 24th and 31st only in the morning and on 25th December and 1st January in the afternoon only)

Tuesday, 5th January

4 pm Sees the arrival to Fuengirola, of Their Majesties the Magi from the East.
Their Majesties, the Kings Magi arrive in Fuengirola by helicopter. After being greeted in the “Elola”
Social and Sports Complex, they will ride in the traditional parade of fantasy and dreams, starting
from C/ Mallorca.

5 pm Grand Cavalcade of Their Majesties the Kings Magi.
The parade will feature 25 floats and a new wonderland musical atmosphere.
Like every year, a group of Bedouins will escort the floats of the King and Queen.
