Very Good Spanish Teacher!
by: Mike and Dora

My wife and I are learning Spanish at the moment with a private teacher at home. He is experienced, qualified, very professional, and uses a very dynamic method of learning. We started talking Spanish from the first lesson!

We have been for two months with him (5 hours a week) and now we are starting get by with the language. We have tried other schools and teachers, but a friend of us recommended this teacher and now we are really happy with him. I give you his website, so you can contact him: www.sergiocana.com or www.spanishteachermarbella.com

I hope it helps you! ;-)

Learning Spanish
by: Anonymous

I took spanish classes for 2 years. One to one lessons of 1 hour, twice a week at the III Institute de Idiomas in Nueva Andalucia.
If you're serious about it, this is the learning method I would recommend because with a private lesson, the lesson goes at your pace.
I know it's more expensive this way, but after 2 years (maybe in less for you), I can now converse with the Spanish mums at the school gate and also get invited out to their girls' nights out!!!

Spanish courses for foreigners
by: Marbella Family

There are lots of Spanish schools located in Marbella and about as many methods. I can recommend a few that I think are most effective from both my own personal experience and from those of people I know.

The most cost efficient way to learn Spanish would be to study online. You can read up on how to learn Spanish with a recommended favorite called How to Speak. You can either download the lessons for $29.95 or have it printed and delivered for $49.95.

If you´re not disciplined enough to study at home, then another cost effective way to learn Spanish in Marbella is to attend one of the Town Hall´s Spanish courses for foreigners. These classes, however, fill up fast (because the price is very reasonable and there are limited spaces), so in September, when classes are inaugurated you need to arrive on the day of inscription early. It´s possible that people drop out of classes and there may be a space mid-year, so it´s worth it to call and find out. The Town Hall offers Spanish courses in three locations. Marbella center - 952823568, San Pedro de Alcántara - 952787141, and Nueva Andalucía - 952812600.

The language school that I personally attended and satisfied friends of mine have attended is
Academia de Idiomas Aguilar. The teachers are highly qualified and you learn in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. These classes are located in San Pedro de Alcantara near the fish market in a square where parking never seems to be a problem. I also thought that these Spanish courses were very reasonably priced - far below the price of other language schools.

I also tried III (Instituto Internacional de Idiomas) as well as some friends of mine. They have qualified teachers who use a very effective method of teaching. They have three locations - Marbella, Nueva Andalucía and Estepona. To give you an idea of the cost they charge ?66 per month for a 3 hour a week class, which has a maximum of 10 students. If you want to study with just one other person, a class of two costs ?19 per hour per person. And private classes go for ?26 per hour. For more information on this school go to www.iiischools.com.

If you are closer to the San Pedro area I have friends who have been happy with The Language House. It is located just off the pedestrian walk in San Pedro so the location is very pleasant. They offer intensive courses (10hrs per week) for ?325 per month with a maximum of 6 students. They also offer a less intensive course of 3 hours per week for ?97.50. And private classes go for ?30 per hour.

Hope this helps and good luck!
