* Halloween at Galaxia Playcenter

Galaxia Playcenter in Guadalmina (San Pedro) is holding an early bird Halloween party for the littlest ones aged 0 - 4 tomorrow (October 27) from 11:00am to 1:30pm. Another fun party for older kids will be held on Wednesday October 31st. Don't miss it! Click here to read more…

TIP: This is a nice chance to spend some time with other like-minded parents and maybe even make some new friends.

* Route 66 American diner

Who needs Hard Rock Cafe when you have Route 66? They have live sports coverage, Sunday roasts, live music and entertainment, a full bar and some all-American favorites. Kids can even run around Antonio Banderas square safely outside and not have to sit patiently in their seats. What more could you ask for? Click here to read more...

TIP: Conveniently located in Puerto Banus. Just park in the underground parking lot on Antonio Banderas square.

* Bellaria Cafe & Bakery

With all the rain, I decided to make a beeline to Bellaria Cafe for a pick me up. A warm cocoa and sticky croissant healed any morning rainy blues. If you can't make it for breakfast one day, then pop in for lunch. They've got fresh salads, hand made pasties, organic sandwiches, lovely quiche and cakes, lots of cakes! You won't regret it. Click here to read more...

TIP: If you are watching your weight or have food intolerances, but still want to have a treat, ask Bellaria to cater to your needs, whether you need gluten free, sugar free or organic. They do it all...and it still tastes marvelous!

* Glow Wellness and Fitness

I have been loving my training and fitness classes at the new Glow Gym in Playas del Duque Puerto Banus. This recently refurbished gym has over 2,500 square meters of machines, swimming pool, hairdresser, fantastic lockers and changing room, cafe and classes in dance, zumba, stretching, aquagym, swimming, pilates, spinning, bosu gliding, yoga, step, G.A.P., toning, circuit training, aerobics and kickboxing as well as personal training services with some of Marbella's top fitness instructors.

There is also a wide range of kids classes including swimming, kickboxing and dance. Your kids will love the classes and the luxurious spa interior feeling like real princes and princesses. First class is free! Click here to read more...

TIP: Located right next to the pharmacy in Puerto Banus.

Summer may be behind us, but that doesn't mean you still can't break away to Tarifa. It's just an hour and 15 minutes from Marbella, but you feel like you're in another world with the bohemian atmosphere and surfer terrain.

Casa la Luz is now offering low season prices, so check it out if you're looking for a place to stay. Very reasonably priced and child friendly too! Click here to read more...

* Wing Chun Marbella

Learn the art of wing chun from Sifu Bennie Bosboom who has been practicing and competing in this martial art for over 23 years. Wing Chun is a style of Kung Fu that is a highly effective martial art for self defence.

Sifu Ben has quite the following and an amazing class that will blow your mind. Just read some of the reviews and you will know what I am talking about. Classes offered for both kids and adults. First class is free! Click here to read more…

* Trick or Treating

Although Halloween is celebrated more and more throughout Spain with mainly private parties at home or in public venues, trick or treating still hasn’t taken hold, so we don't recommend knocking on strangers' doors. But sometimes kids are just stubborn and still want to knock on doors and beg for candy. So, what do you do? Click here to read more…

* House maintenance

One of our readers needs a recommendation and asks, ”I am a new home owner in Alvarito playa in Costabella. Can you recommend a good, consciencious and not too expensive house maintenance and renovation company. Preferably English speaking?”

We have several recommendations already, so if you are also looking for some help, check out this page. Or, if you have someone you trust and can recommend, please tell us! Click here to read more…

This is a national holiday and many businesses and schools will be closed on this day. Check out any schedules before you leave the house. Click here to read more…

TIP: La Cañada and El Corte Inglés shopping centers will remain open during this holiday.

* Daylight savings

At 3:00am on Sunday October 28th daylight savings takes effect. It's best to move your clocks back one hour on Saturday night before you go to bed. Woo hoo! We’re going to have earlier sunrises from now on. No more waking up in the dark...for a while.

* Computer back up and system maintenance workshop

I often talk about the workshops offered by Marbella Mac Solutions every Monday morning. They are all great, but if you go to only one workshop this year, the next one is the one you have to make... It’s all about backing up your computer, which is so important. There are so many of us out there that would be devastated if we lost all the photos in our library or work documents that have been built up over the years.

Don’t be one of those people who loses all of this information! Attend this workshop to avoid any problems. Don’t miss this one! If you already know what to do, share this link with your friends and family. Click here to read more…

TIP: In this class you will also be talking about how to back up Mail, Address Book, Calendars and Special files, how to use Dropbox and iCloud... how to burn CDs or use external hard drives, Pen Drives and of course Time Capsule and Time Machine.
