The choir and orchestra of the Collegium Musicum

This year will be the 40th anniversary of the formation of the choir and Orchestra into Collegium Musicum Costa del Sol, In celebration of this, they, will be joined by the Camerata singers from Sotogrande and the Gibraltarian group, InCantus, making over 100 voices. They will give two concerts under their director of music, Annemarie Phillipps,

The principle work in the program will be the much loved Messe Solennelle Sainte Cécile,
by Charles Gounod, paying homage to music’s patron Saint.
The soloists are Samantha Bowling Soprano, Phillip Borge Tenor, and Luis Lopez Bass.

Other works to be played, are by Mendelssohn, the beautiful song ‘Hear my prayer (O for the wings of a Dove), and by Bizet who composed the incidental music to a play by Daudet called L’Arlesenne (the girl from Arles), and this gives an opportunity for the orchestra to shine with his Suite no. 2.

The first of the two concerts is in Sotogrande in Iglesia Nuestra Señora de le Merced
on the 17th. May at 20:30h, and the Marbella concert is in Iglesa de la Encarnacion on 19th. May at 21:00.
Please give generously to the Concordia, the charity that will benefit from the exit collection.
