Winter sales in Marbella
by: Marbella Family

The winter sale season starts right after the January 6th holiday Los Reyes (Three Kings Day) on January 7th. In Spain gifts are exchanged on Three Kings Day as opposed to Christmas Day on the 25th, so there are still lots of buyers in the shops until January 6th. The day after, however, is when all the shopping madness starts all over again as items are reduced.

In the first several weeks, usually, prices are reduced to 25% - 30%, then as the weeks carry on, prices go down to as low as 75% as stores try to get rid of stock.

If you have your eye on something in particular I would get it as soon as the sales start as the "good stuff" gets swooped up fast. Beware of buyer madness, crowds and traffic jams in the first few weeks as people are not only trying to get the best bargains, but are also looking to exchange or return items received from the Three Kings Day. If this is a problem for you, then I suggest you wait a few weeks until the crowds thin out and the prices come down even stronger.
