* Foundation of Friends

The Foundation of Friends is a charitable organization that Marbella Family Fun has been involved with in the past. The purpose of the foundation is to extend a friendly helping hand to children in need. They are always looking for more "friends" and volunteers, so please contact them if you can spare some extra time or money.

Their aim is to engage the Expat and Spanish community in coming together to raise money for facilities and support to help children who for a variety of reasons find themselves in difficulty. Click here to read more...

* Ski trip to Sierra Nevada

Now that the kids are back in school and the Christmas holidays are over you may be thinking about your next vacation. Many of us are thinking of taking the kids skiing for their half term break and if you want to stick close to Marbella, then there is only one place - Sierra Nevada.

If you´re planning a ski trip to Sierra Nevada, make sure you make some time to visit Granada, which is a short 30 minutes from the mountains. You are likely to be driving by anyway, so it´s definitely worth a stop...even if it´s for a bite to eat. You won´t be disappointed.

Read our reviews, hints and tips for planning a trip to the snow from the Costa del Sol. And feel free to add to it if you like. Click here to read more...

* Summer camps in Marbella

We´re still in the middle of winter, but many of you are already thinking about the summer holidays. We´ve had so many requests lately about summer camps this year and where can kids learn Spanish. Boy! Are you guys organized! I´m still thinking about what to do during half-term (if anything at all) in February.

If you´re a better planner than me and are thinking about summer camps, don´t forget to look at our list of camps from last year. Most of them repeat year after year, so don´t worry. We will update our page a month or two before the vacation as summer camps start to gear up for the holiday and make announcements. If you must know now, contact the camp in advance.

If you´ve attended a summer camp here in the past, we are always keen to hear your experiences. So don´t forget to send us your review! Our readers really really appreciate it. Click here to read more...

* Looking for camp for 6 and 8 year olds

One of our readers is planning a trip to Marbella and is looking for a camp for her young children. She asks: "I live in California and I have 4 children 13, 8, 6 and 3. I want them to speak Spanish. Please tell me of a good school where they can go for two weeks in 2012 from June 25 to July. "

We´ve given our best recommendations, maybe you have some of your own? Click here to read more...

* Sales in Marbella are in full swing

If you haven´t hit the sales yet, then you may want to consider a shopping trip sometime soon. Many of the stores at La Cañada and in Puerto Banus are offering major discounts on all their items.

Last weekend the malls and shopping centers were mobbed by the many locals returning or exchanging their holiday gifts from Three Kings Day that was celebrated January 6th. Things are much quieter now and you now have room to breathe...or at least find a parking space.

The sales are to last until end of February, so you still have time, however if you´ve got your eye on something special it´s best to go sooner than later. Click here to read more...

* Good morning Marbella

I don´t have any new photos to post in my morning blog today, and I´ll tell you why. I´ve decided to start jogging and I couln´t be bothered with my phone/camera. I´m not a runner whatsoever. Athletic, yes, but running is definitely not my thing. Only recently I was told that my cardiovascular capacity was, let´s say, not up to standard and one way to improve it was running. I´m not sure how long it will last, but I´ve decided to try it out. Click here to read more...

* Cross country run in San Pedro

Join the XVII cross country run in San Pedro de Alcántara on Sunday January 23rd starting at 10:30am at Parque Las Medrana (near Cable Ski). Click here to read more...

* Parking at Malaga airport

You´ve got your tickets booked for your next trip, but still haven´t sorted out how to get to the airport in Malaga. If you are leaving the Costa del Sol for only a few weeks or less, then you are probably better off leaving your car at one of the parking lots near the airport.

There are plenty to choose from and we´ve got some recommendations for you from both our family and our readers. Click here to read more...

* Benefit flamenco concert tonight

On Friday January 14th at 9:00pm you are invited to a benefit flamenco concert in aid of Juan Antonio, a 7 year-old boy from San Pedro de Alcántara who is struck with a serious illness.
