* Holiday sales started on Friday

If you´ve been to La Cañada or El Corte Inglés yesterday or this morning you surely have seen the crowds. Everyone is returning and exchanging gifts now from Three Kings Day or finally spending the money they´ve been saving up for the sales for that item they´ve been waiting for.

The sales usually last two months, so if you don´t get a chance now, you´re better off when the crowds thin out in a week or so. Click here to read more...

* Useful info on non-Spanish plated cars

One of our readers has posted useful information regarding non-Spanish plated cars. Interesting if you´re residing (or planning to reside) on the Costa del Sol.

"I have lived and worked here on the costa del sol for 12 years. My car broke down and a my neighbor offered to lend me his car as he was going back to the UK for a few months, his car was insured for any driver over 30 ( which I am ) Taxed and Tested, and fully legal, however it was on French number plates, due to the fact he owns property ion France as well as Spain. I was stopped at a police check point in Calahonda, asked to provide I.D and documents for the car which I did." Click here to read more...

* Cheap car rental

Another reader has shared a useful link to a budget rental car company in Malaga. We´ve checked out their site and it seems to offer quite a good deal relative to other rental companies.

* The beach in the winter

Read about the lovely experience one of our readers had along the beach in Marbella. It´s inspiring to wake up early, get your walking or running shoes on and head to the water.

"I have lived and worked here for over 12 years and wake up each day to a great sea view and I see the beach every day when I am in the car, however as the years have gone by i have tended not to go to the beach in the summer, too many people, too hot, too much sand! so i tend to laze on my terrace, or in a bar."
