Top Thai Laguna Village

Amongst the ten or so restaurants nestled along the mini canals in Laguna Village is Top Thai Beach, an offshoot of the original Top Thai in Nueva Andalucia. The nicely appointed dining room with 30 covers can be opened up during the more clement months to embrace a further 20 alfresco waterside places, with yet a further couple of dozen on an adjacent island. Altogether a most pleasant place to while away a few hours.

Thai cuisine has always been one of our favorites and we were looking forward to adding this one to our list of restaurants with this genre. From the extensive menu we chose to share a mixed starter of Chicken Satay with peanut sauce, a pastry encased Prawn, Vegetable Spring roll, and Sesame and Prawn toast, with mains of a Beef Massaman curry and a Chicken Phad Thai with rice. All were nicely presented and ‘to me’ tasted as they should. However my wife thought the Phad thai was not quite right! Later this was to prove to be the case as rumbling tummies bore witness.

Top Thai beach is at Laguna Village which is off the N340 at ‘cambio de sentedo’ 160, approximately 4 km. east of Estepona (not well sign posted) Adequate onsite parking, They boast over 100 dishes on the menu prepared by chef pi-Thong from Thailand. They open for lunch and dinner every day, and there Is a take away service. Randy our waiter was helpful.
