Summer in Estepona with small kids
by: Kati

There is a very nice playpark, big one in Estepona Paseo (sorry I know its marbella family fun :D) and sundays they have a lovely street market at the puerto marina in Estepona, small enough for kiddies and lots to see when its at the yacht harbour.

Bus from San Pedro goes to Estepona every 20 mins in summertime and takes about 30mins. Estepona is quite nice, still "spanish" town.

Also, there is a direct bus to La Linea that is next to Gibraltar. Stops in few places, cost something like 4 euros and is air conditioned.

You can take many trips around from San Pedro, also go to Ronda, small very cute and very old town up in mountains.. bus journey is about an hour, but definately worth seeing.

Marbella with small kids
by: Marbella Family

There are so many things to do with kids in the summer here. One of the most popular things families with young children like to do is go to the beach. If you are spending the entire month of June here, then you will certainly find time for this. Our favorite beach in this area is the Nueva Andalucia beach (only two minutes from San Pedro) located right in front of the Guadalpin Banus Hotel.

Unfortunately, the sand on the San Pedro beaches isn´t very nice, so I don´t recommend spending much time on the beach there. However, if you are looking for a stroll on the boardwalk or somewhere to ride bikes and rollerblade, then San Pedro has a lovely boardwalk that recently has been extended to reach all the way to Marbella. There is only one part that isn´t finished yet, but hopefully by June it will be. You can read more about the San Pedro boardwalk here.

In June, some of the water parks open if the weather is good enough, which is another great place to take kids...even small ones. There is always a play area for smaller kids. Our favorite is Aqualand. Keep in mind that all of the water parks are at least a 30 minute drive from Marbella, so you will need to have a car. June is a great time to go to the waterpark, because the local kids are still in school and the park will be relatively empty, so pick a weekday to do this activity.

The Fuengirola zoo (also called BioParc) is also great for smaller kids. It´s not a very large park so you don´t need to spend all day there and it´s easy to manage. There are plenty of animals to see and June is a good month to visit, because it´s not too hot yet and the park won´t be crowded (although it rarely ever is anyway). The park is stroller and baby friendly, unlike Selwo Aventura (safari park) where the kids need to walk a lot and there are areas where you cannot bring a stroller. Fuengirola is about a 25 - 30 minute drive from San Pedro, so you will definitely need a car to get there.

There are other smaller attractions in San Pedro and Marbella that you may be interested in and you can find them on our Attractions page here.
