II Marbella Food and Sun Festival

The II edition of the Marbella Food and Sun Festival 2010 kicks off on August 22 and runs through until August 24 positioning the city as a reference in international cuisine. The festival will showcase the variety and quality of food that Marbella has to offer.


Marbella is the city in Spain with the most Michelin stars per square meter. Marbella Chef Dani García is directing the festival and announced a "Live Cooking" session at the Hotel Don Pepe, where Mr. García will be directing the participants on how to prepare the dinner. This session brings together some of the best chefs in Spain including José Andrés, Andrea Tumbarello and Marbella´s own Dani García.

On Monday August 23, haute cuisine and golf reunite at the "Wine and Green" event at the Aloha Golf Club, where you can have a cocktail offered by the three Michelin prize-winning Marbella restaurants Calima, El Lago and Skina.

The Aloha Golf Club will be holding a golf competition at 8:30am. To register call 952 907 085 or e-mail reservas@clubdegolfaloha.com. Keep in mind that there is a green fee of 80 euros.

On Tuesday August 24, the festival continues at La Venus Beach in Marbella with a sardine grilling competition (espetos), where six chefs compete for the Silver Sardine prize.
