Infant schools

(Marbella)

My daughter is starting school in September, and I'm trying to find out which schools are in my catchment area. I've tried the junta de andalucia website but find it a bit confusing. We're in Marbella Centre. Any advice

a little help
by: Rebecca

If you go to any of the schools in the area normally between 9:30 and 11:30 they will be able to tell you which schools are in your zone. They will also give you the dates, which is sometime in March that you have to register your childs name. You will have to write down you 3 options and you can not be sure which one you get as it is done on a points system.

You get points for, living in the area or working in the area, if there are any siblings in the school, if you have 3 or more children, if you are a single parent family or if there are any disabilities in any member of the family.

But dont worry if you dont have many points it does not mean you wont get the school you want. But make sure you find out when the forms must be in by.

You will need your childs birth certificate and passport or n.i.e., Libro familia, your families empadramiento (from the town hall), copies of you and your partners passports passports 4 passport fotos of your child. Take 2 copies of everything.

I hope that helps. Good luck.
