Hay Mucho - activities for teens and young adults

Hay Mucho or "There Is Much More" is a Town Hall Youth Services project with the purpose of promoting the development of recreational, cultural and artistic, educational activities that promote healthy lifestyles in teens and young people of our city at the community level. This program is intended to change the model of conventional entertainment that revolves around the consumption of alcohol and drugs, and re turn it into healthy leisure models. Hay Mucho are free workshops for kid and young adults ages 14 to 30. Sponsored by the Marbella Youth Delegation, Hay Mucho is designed to help Marbella’s young people entertained and engaged in interesting and educational activities. All of the workshops are taught in Spanish. There are workshops in both Marbella and San Pedro. Scroll down to see the San Pedro schedule.

Hay Mucho Specific Objectives: as described by the Town Hall

• Promote healthy leisure habits away from the nightlife that revolves around the use of alcohol and other substances during weekend nights.
• Provide young people with a set of alternatives and activities other than what is familiarly known as "movida" framed within the weekend.
• Educating young people on the values of respect, conviviality and protection of the own physical and mental integrity.
• Encourage creative leisure marbelleros young people as an essential element of their overall development.
• Encourage participation and social involvement of youth.
• Promote the values of knowledge, protection, and sustainable enjoyment of nature among young people, as well as provide a set of recreational, sporting and educational activities related to nature that facilitate their knowledge and promote respect for the environment.
