Carnival 6-14 February 2016

This year Marbella brings us a number of competitions and celebrations over the Carnivals. We shall post everything we know as soon as we find out more. We are waiting for the 2016 Carnaval poster that was created by you guys in a competition you entered in November and will be announced very soon.

Below you have the chance of entering one of these two fantastic competitions:



XXIII Carnival Group Contest

Date: Ends 3 January 2016
Location: Ayuntamiento de Marbella, Plaza de los Naranjos

Two possible group entries:

1. "COMPARSAS" MUSICAL GROUPS:
a) Are the carnival groups that interpret their repertoire in two voices as minimum and consist of a minimum of 12 components and a maximum of 17.
b) The instrument shall be composed of: Kick, Snare, a minimum of two Spanish guitars (maximum three) and carnival whistles to be mandatory in couplets.
They may use other instruments only and exclusively in the presentation and potpourri.
c) Their repertoire will consist of: submission, two pasodobles two couplets, and potpourri. If you reach the end, the group is required to change the lyrics of his compositions in pasodobles and couplets.

2. "CHIRIGOTA" MUSICAL GROUPS:
a) Carnival Groups are interpreting their repertoire without clamping the number of voices and will consist of a minimum of 10 components and a maximum of 15.
b) The instrument shall be composed of: Kick, Snare, carnival whistles and a minimum of one Spanish guitar (maximum two). They may use other instruments exclusively on presentation and potpourri (whistles are required in couplets).
c) Their repertoire will consist of: submission, two pasodobles two couplets crimped and potpourri. If you reach the end, the group is required to change the lyrics of his compositions and couplets pasodobles

Venus & Nymphs Carnaval 2016

All young ladies from the age of 16 to the age of 35 may enter this competition and will be judge on their grace and kindness.

There will be one Venus and two Nymphs selected too be present through out the Carnivals and they will be honoured with a trophy, a band and gifts.
