Halloween is right around the corner - Although trick or treating and large Halloween parties with spooky themes are not part of traditional Spanish culture, October 31st is a significant day in Spain. It marks the beginning of Dia de los Difuntos a three-day festival honoring the deceased. While November 1 and 2 are still reserved for honoring the dead in traditional ways, October 31st is all about Halloween and it is becoming more popular in Spain each year among children and adults alike. Halloween is a time to dress up in your creepiest gear and eat lots of spooky sweets. continue reading

  • October 26th – Daylight Savings or Summertime ends. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back before you go to bed on the 25th.
  • October 31st is Halloween – We can’t believe how Halloween has really taken on a life of it’s own in Marbella. It seems everyone is getting into the spirit this year.   • November 1st - All Saints Day in Spain or Día de todos los Santos is festive day to honor the deceased. This is a national bank holiday and thus many businesses and schools will be closed. On this day Spaniards honor loved ones who have passed away by decorating gravesites with flowers, photos, and candles to help the deceased find their way home.

  • November 2nd – Dia de los Difuntos. While not a bank holiday, November 2nd is the third day of this three-day celebration and will be a continuation of remembrance for the departed.

Part of a series of events hosted by the Marbella town hall, this is the 6th of 7 Saturday celebrations where the Commercial Abierto Marbella will offer flamenco, concerts, storytelling, parades, juggling and more. The next and last Te Esperamos will be on December 6th.

Emergency First Response Care for Children - Don’t forget to sign up now for this first Aid class. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. The two-day class is on November 4th and 6th.
