* Club de Conversación

Have you been struggling to learn Spanish and just can't understand what's going on? Then try learning with Club de Conversación. This is an informal and fun way to learn how to speak Spanish with very practical methods. I've heard great things about it and you just need to read the reviews to see I'm not the only one.

TIP: Total beginners welcome too! Click here to read more...

* Ideal Furniture Spain

Whether you are looking for office furniture, patio furniture or home furnishings, be sure to check out Ideal Furniture Spain. The warehouse is conveniently located in the poligono industrial in San Pedro de Alcantara or go online to see what they have on their website. There are loads of items to choose from with a variety of styles and prices that suit any taste and budget.

TIP: Save yourself a trip to Málaga. Prices here are just as competitive. Click here to read more...

* La Parisienne Café & Bakery

One of the best terraces to chill out on where you will see and be seen is La Parisienne Café & Bakery in Plaza Centro in Nueva Andalucia. This is the only place to eat if you're visiting the Saturday market in Marbella - mercadillo de Puerto Banús.

Freshly baked croissants (done the real way like in France!), tasty salads with quality meats and one of the best dessert menus on the Coast with mouthwatering French pastries to DIE for.

TIP: If you don’t have room for dessert, take home some of the macaroons or a baguette for dinner. You won’t regret it. Click here to read more...

* Kudo Academy of Martial Arts

Kudo Academy is under new ownership and has an extended timetable offering classes in kickboxing, wing chun, and more for both kids and adults. It's the cleanest and coolest dojo space I've ever seen on the Coast.

They are now offering a Ladies Self Defence Course starting Tuesday May 15th at 6pm - this could save your life one day! They are also thinking about doing a course on Saturdays but need to have enough numbers, so contact them if you are interested.

TIP: Imagine this self denfence course could be great for teens too. Click here to read more...

* Cake Couture

If you are looking for a birthday cake, wedding cake (or a cake for any occasion for that matter) that will wow and impress, look no further than Cake Couture. Just take a look at their portfolio for jaw dropping designs. Their creative hands of gold can handle anything you throw at them.

I have to admit that there are a lot of cake companies out there making name brand handbags and some other interesting designs, but I have not yet seen one that is as impressive and realistic looking as some of the creations from Cake Couture. These cakes are truly works of art that are never rushed. Click here to read more…

* Jeans Factory Marbella Outlet

Totally cute Moomba heels from the 2012 collection are a bargain at €25.00 a pair at the Jeans Factory Marbella Outlet. It's prices like these that keep me going back for more. One of the coolest things about this shop is that it is open 7 days a week AND on holidays all year round.

Tip: It's not only about jeans! Click here to read more…

* The Original Dolphin Safari

The Original Dolphin Safari in Gibraltar is a must see during your holidays in Marbella. It is a fun and easy excursion that can easily be combined with a visit to The Rock.

The kids will love the boat ride and the interaction with the dolphins. You will also get some great shots of Gibraltar from the sea. Guaranteed fun for the whole family!

TIP: Yes, it’s worth the drive out to Gibraltar. You are more likely to see dolphins in the Strait of Gibraltar than in the Mediterranean along the Costa del Sol. Click here to read more…

* Galaxia Playcenter

Yep, it’s scheduled to rain this weekend. But rain or shine, Galaxia Playenter is open for all boys and girls on the Costa del Sol with extended summer hours - now open until 9pm! Meet other moms (and dads) at the Friday baby groups from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

TIP: Galaxia is a great venue to hold birthday parties too. No mess to clean up! Click here to read more…

* Horseback riding on the beach

Ok, we’ve answered the question about dogs on the beach, but how about horses on the beach? One of our readers asks, “We are staying at the Guadalmina Hotel, and our 11 year old wishes to ride horses on the beach (she is an experienced rider). What is the closest place to our hotel that we can do this? ”

We’ve got a couple of leads for you if you are also interested in horseback riding on the beach, but please share your experiences if you have somewhere to recommend (or warn us about). Click here to read more…

* Costa Women Fashion Show

After last year's fab show they are doing it again on Saturday 19th May 2012! Social network community Costa Women is organizing more clothes, loads of glamour and gorgeousness, more drama and more paparazzi for this year’s fashion show in Calahonda. Click here to read more…

* Daddy and me playgroups

Us mommy’s are spoiled with plenty of playgroups where we can get together and meet other like-minded moms. But what about the dads? One of our readers asks, “Hi does anybody know of any Dad meet ups? I know there are lots of Mommy baby groups but are there any Dad baby groups?”

It’s true that the lifestyle on the Costa del Sol allows many dads to spend more quality time with their children. That’s one of the reasons why so many families move out here! We see plenty of dads picking up their kids at school and attending football matches and practice, but it isn’t so easy to find an organized group for dads. If you know of one (perhaps a mommy/daddy and me playgroup) or would like to organize one yourself, get in touch! Click here to read more…

* Marbella’s first Grafiteria

Gratiferia. What's that? A street market where everything is FREE. Arboretum People's Park (Bosque para la gente) is organizing Marbella's first GRATIFERIA on May 6th. Bring things that you don't want and give it away (or nothing at all) and pick up other things that you may need. Interesting new concept. Click here to read more…

* Hair care for extensions

Do you have hair extensions? Then maybe you can help out a reader who asks, “I'm on holiday in Puerto Banus in a few weeks and would like any advice on where to go for a wash and blow dry. Thanks! ”

We’ve already got one recommendation, so if you are also in the same boat, jot down this contact. Click here to read more…

* Laude San Pedro summer fair

Mark your calendars and take the kids to support your community at the Laude San Pedro International College summer fair on Friday May 25th 2012 from 6pm to 10:30pm.

TIP: If you would like to have a stand at the fair, contact Laude - Tel: +34 95 279 99 00, Email: info@laudesanpedro.com. Open to the public. Click here to read more…

* Kickboxing Tournament

Not necessarily a family friendly event, but I know some of you guys are into kickboxing. ‘Lucha de Titanes III’ kickboxing showdown takes place on May 5 at 7pm at the Palacio de Deportes de San Pedro Alcántara. Click here to read more…

TIP: Get the babysitter out for this one.

* Marbella summer camps

Looking for a summer camp for the kids during the holiday break? Then take a look at our building list of summer camps available along the Costa del Sol. Click here to read more…

TIP: IF you have a summer camp to recommend tell us about it! Keep this page bookmarked for all the latest updates.

* Second runway at Málaga airport

Malaga Airport is to open its second runway by this summer. It is Spain’s fifth airport to have two or more runways (along with Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Gran Canaria). Click here to read more…

* Open day at British School of Marbella

British School of Marbella Campus is delighted to invite you on Saturday 5th of May 2012 at 11.00 for the Extra Curricular Open day. After which we they host a Family Fun Day. There will be a BBQ, bouncy castle, entertainers, stalls and more.

TIP: This is a good chance to check out the school if you are interested in enrolling. Click here to read more…

* Renting a car in Marbella

My friend rented a car last week from Record Rent a Car at Malaga airport and couldn't believe how cheap it was - 35 euro for the day (without insurance). The car was brand new and in perfect condition. He said the whole fleet was new too. Sounded too good to be true, so thought we should pass on the details. Click here to read more…

TIP: One of our readers says, “I've been using record for the last few years and I wouldn't change now to another company as I'm 100% satisfied with them.”

* Marbella Weather

The weather has been crazy up and down lately. If you’re not sure how to pack for your next holiday out to Marbella, check out our Marbella weather guide. It’s supposed to rain this weekend, so bring your rain gear! Click here to read more…

* A little joke

LOL! Just received a load of funny things that kids say from a friend. Made my day. Here is one:

"One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, 'Mummy, will you sleep with me tonight?' The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. 'I can't dear,' she said. 'I have to sleep in Daddy's room.' A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice: 'The big sissy.'"

I’ll be posting a couple more jokes like these from time to time on our Facebook wall, so visit us there if you want to laugh more. Or post your own jokes there too!

Don´t forget the power of the BUZZ! Please tell your friends and family about our newsletter or to follow us on Twitter or Facebook.

Thank you... and see you next Friday.
