Swans opened in 1971, so it has a long history and loads of experience teaching on the Costa del Sol. * Fires on the Costa del Sol

Fires have been burning all night in the villages of Ojen and Coín near Marbella. Eight urbanisations and 4,000 people in Marbella have been evacuated from their homes. The fire broke out on Thursday afternoon and has affected Coín where some 60 homes have had to be evacuated.

Two people have been seriously injured with burns. They were in the urbanisation El Rosario where five homes have been affected by the flames.Click here to read more...

* VAT increases in Spain

As of September 1, 2012, Spain is increasing the VAT rate from 18% to 21% as part of the economic measures taken to stabilize the economy. Brace yourself!


* Selwo Aventura

Increases in VAT start September 1st, however Selwo Aventura in Estepona will not apply the VAT increase in their ticket prices for the 2012 season so that tourists and locals can enjoy this unique park without paying more. Click here to read more…

* Motorcycle rally

For those of you who love bikes, you’ll want to know about the motorcycle rally this weekend. The event, music and entertainment takes place at Fuerte Nagueles in Marbella.
