* British School of Marbella

Last week The British School of Marbella had a flying start to the term with a visit from falconers Susanna Armstrong and Jorge Quirós who gave a wonderful demonstration on their birds of prey to the children.

Located in the heart of Marbella, The British School of Marbella follows the English National Curriculum and accepts students aged 2 to 7. Click here to read more…

* Maison Afrique du Sud

FYI. Maison Afrique du Sud received a new collection of furniture, artwork and loads of beautiful pieces from South Africa earlier this month. If you're looking for that pefect fluffy sofa (with removable covers!) or that touch of elegance for your home, stop into their showroom located just off the Golden Mile in front of the Marbella Club Hotel. They'll treat you like royalty there. Click here to read more...

* Marbella Montessori School

Marbella Montessori School offers the British Early Years Curriculum and the Montessori Method of Education for children aged three months to six years. Yep, you heard it. From 3 months old!

They also have cookery, music and yoga classes. How cool is that for little ones? Click here to read more...

TIP: Watch the video clip to get an idea of what the Montessori method is.

* Marbella Youth Theatre

The Marbella Youth Theatre kicked off a new season last Saturday with classes in drama, LAMDA (London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts) exam preparation, and musical theatre for children aged 3 to 18.

All classes are taught by Julie - a qualified drama teacher from the UK who has been preparing students for the LAMDA exams and teaching for the last 10 years. My daughter has been attending these classes for the last year and not only loves them, but passed her LAMDA exams with flying colors. Highly recommended! Click here to read more…

TIP: For those of you who have kids in Aloha College, the Marbella Youth Theatre is conveniently located near this campus. First class is FREE for everyone!

* La Fishita restaurant

Go to La Fishita for amazing fish and chips as well as traditional Spanish favorites. * Tarifa holiday rental

I have been looking into spending a weekend in Tarifa, because September and October are beautiful months to spend there. Prices have come down and the crowds have thinned out. * Buying fish in Spain

We have been eating more fish these days, so I have been making more frequent trips to my favorite "pescaderia" Miguel in San Pedro, which is one of the most popular fish markets in the area.

They always have a fresh selection of quality fish. It can be pricey, unless you go for farm-raised fish, which is a lot more affordable. However, you should fork out the cash every so often for a fresh fish from the sea or ocean. You will notice a difference.

Read on to find out how to choose a fish from the supermarket or your local pescaderia. Click here to read more…

* Restaurante Arroyo Hondo

We just got a nice review for a restaurant located in Casares called Arroyo Hondo. It’s about a 40 minute drive from Marbella, but the review sounds like it may be worth it.
