108 sun salutation practice

by Helen Hooper

It has become something of a tradition in some yoga circles to perform 108 sun salutations at the change of each season.

With the Spring Equinox arriving with us on the 20th March we are offered the perfect opportunity to experience the energy created by participating in this challenging but easily completable practice.

Sun salutations open and energise the whole body and done with the right awareness bring more and more prana (life force) into the system. Yoga is not exercise, it doesn’t wear out the body but rather floods the mind, body and spirit with energy.

Performing 108 sun salutations is an incredibly uplifting practice and people usually find that once they have done it once they can’t wait to do it all over again :)

108 sun salutation practices are often done with a view to giving monies to charity and so all proceeds that I raise from this practice will go to my 2013 Marathon Challenge in aid of The Elephant Sanctuary - more details on my website.

I hope that you can join me in this practice and experience the energy created when we all practice with one conscious energy.

This practice commences at 10am at Family Siesta, Mijas and the cost will be 5 euros.

More details can be found on my website.
